Little about myself born and raised in Utah and still have big family out there but because of the huge Mormon population there (Mormon myself), its difficult to get a sufficiently paying job there. Currently work for a private practice out in Flagstaff, AZ but I'm starting to get really weary of the rural lifestyle (at least imo). I've been used to living/near Salt Lake City and San Diego my whole life. So my question is, any chance I can make it in Reno, NV or Las Vegas, NV as an associate and eventually owning my practice? I have done my WREB so all I would need to do is apply for the Nevada license which I heard is pretty fast (or faster than other states) to get. A little city life would be nice. I'm aware Las Vegas has UNLV dental school but in general do Las Vegas dentists do pretty well or do I have to think of hour long commutes out of Clark County? Second question is that at the current place I work at I might have the opportunity to get extra production by working 40+ hours (been working 38-40 now).

Nevada Legislature to see big changes after 2016 election By Sean Whaley Review-Journal Capital Bureau September 28, 2015 CARSON CITY — New political opportunities, term limits and retirements will combine to produce significant changes to the makeup of the Nevada Legislature in the 2016 election year. The changes have serious ramifications for political control over the Assembly and Senate, both now in Republican hands for the first time since 1985. All 42 Assembly seats and 10 of the 21 Senate seats are up for grabs next year. And some Republicans who voted for tax increases in Gov. Brian Sandoval's budget have already drawn conservative challengers. Two members of the Assembly, former minority leader Marilyn Kirkpatrick and Harvey Munford, both Southern Nevada Democrats, served their last sessions in 2015 due to term limits. Kirkpatrick's political career continues, however, as a recent appointee to the Clark County Commission. Other members of the Legislature, including Senate Majority Leader Michael Roberson, R-Henderson, and Sen. Ruben Kihuen, D-Las Vegas, have announced runs for Congress.

His annual compensation with benefits tops $100, 000. In an email, McDonald said he is deeply committed to his family, all of whom reside in Las Vegas, so it was impossible for him to move to Carson City to keep his job with the treasurer's office. "I thanked Treasurer Schwartz for the opportunity to serve our community and wished him well in finding a replacement, " he said. Schwartz and McDonald, a former Las Vegas city councilman and Las Vegas police officer, are part of the conservative wing of the fractured state GOP at odds with Gov. Brian Sandoval and others in the Republican establishment. Schwartz is also in charge of setting up the state's new education savings account program. These accounts allow about $5, 000 in state, per-pupil funding to follow a student who leaves a public school and instead funnels the money into a private or parochial campus. The program was approved by the 2015 Legislature and signed by Sandoval, but two lawsuits have been filed challenging it on constitutional grounds.
