Dan Patrick: I'll let you get the pitch in there — no pun intended — in a moment. I want to talk a little more about this. When you hear Tommy John Surgery, what does that mean to you as a pitcher? M. H. : Well, it's something that obviously everyone knows about as a pitcher. It's so common. It's something you never know... D. P. : Is it scary when you hear that possibility? But you're deciding not to do it. How scary is [Tommy John surgery]? M. : Every pitcher can relate to what's going on, but I think I did all those answers yesterday and maybe at the appropriate time we can talk a little more about that but obviously today is about Qualcomm. : You don't want to talk about this whole rehab and Tommy John? M. : I will. I mean, we can set up another call if you'd like to about that subject, but today we're honoring and supporting Qualcomm. : Well, okay, I'll let you get your pitch.

As much as there are days when you want to be lazy and not do something, getting up and doing those 15 minutes of band exercises to work out the small shoulder muscles you have, and maybe a little extra leg stretching so you're not stiff. Just the little thing you may be able to get away with looking past. But I think not worrying about your arm and staying up on the small, tedious things you have to do in between starts would be my biggest things. How cool was it to go on The Daily Show? I'd never met [Jon Stewart] before, but obviously had heard he's a huge Mets fan and have definitely watched the show and heard him talk about it. I think having that opportunity and going to see how excited he was to have me on was really special and really cool. I was very glad to be part of his week and the whole experience was absolutely awesome.

Yeah, I mean you know, definitely Carcass is one of our influences, but you know I think people, because we have two vocalists and because we use words with more than two syllables, I think people have been really eager, rhroughout our careers to say you guys really sound like Carcass and it didn't really bother me that much until Carcass got back together and I was like oh God this is really getting annoying. So I'm happy to hear that, you're not just, our new record sounds just like Carcass, not really what I want to hear. But I mean hey like you said it's all. It all depends on the listeners. On early musical upbringing…. You know first hearing like all their music Jefferson Airplane and Jimi Hendrix and Stanley Brown and Robin Trower and Cream. My Dad was a huge Cream fan. And then my my uncle was a jazz fusion musician and so you know I remember hearing you know stuff like Chick Corea or Mahavishnu Orchestra when I was a kid and my grandmother also was a piano teacher.
Matt Harvey went on the Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday, but he seemed to be more focused on Qualcomm, a wireless telecommunication company, than a torn UCL that ended his 2013 MLB season. The New York Mets star had an extremely awkward exchange on the show, as he avoided all questions about his rehab to avoid Tommy John surgery, instead redirecting all questions back to a Qualcomm pitch. When Patrick tried to bring the focus of the conversation back to baseball, Harvey made his intentions clear: "I did all of those answers yesterday and maybe at the appropriate time we can talk about that. But today is about Qualcomm. " If only Harvey's transitions were as fluid as his pitching motion. Dan Patrick was obviously confused by his guest. The host had more than a few priceless reactions. Fans were quick to jump on Harvey for his interview in a pun-filled wave of criticism. #MattHarvey enters rehab for his interview skills instead of tommy john. Derek: Your debut album, "Savage Land", will arrive on April 21 st. What little I've heard so far sounds absolutely awesome! It's straight up glorious, old-school Florida death metal! How would you describe the album to someone that hasn't heard Gruesome, yet? What's your favorite track? Matt: My favorite is probably "Hideous, " which I think is the last one we wrote. I think the writing has gotten better and better as time has gone on. As far as describing it I'd say imagine if DEATH put out an album in between "Leprosy" and "Spiritual Healing, " that's pretty much where our sound sits. Derek: The artwork for "Savage Land" is killer! It makes for gorgeous t-shirts, as well. Who is the artist? Matt: We got Ed Repka to do the art – we knew that as a DEATH worship band, we had to have the guy behind the "Scream Bloody Gore, " "Leprosy, " and "Spiritual Healing" artwork. It was really just as important as the music itself. I mean, our logo is a DEATH tribute (ahem, rip-off), our music is a DEATH tribute (ahem, rip-off), and the whole thing wouldn't be complete without the guy who made those album covers so memorable.

The band's sixth full-length sees them tread into ambitious new territory with their first concept album: a musical melodrama in thirteen parts based on shocking true events. Death Revenge takes place in the late 1820s in Edinburgh, Scotland and tells the macabre tale of a series of brutal murders where the victims' cadavers were sold to anatomists, amid a grisly underground trade of grave-robbery. Recorded with producer Jarrett Pritchard (Goatwhore, Gruesome), Death Revenge takes the band's signature gore-drenched, death metal mayhem to theatrical and ghastly new depths. Cover illustration is by Orion Landau with interior illustrations by Lucas Ruggieri. Frontman Matt Harvey comments: "We're very excited to see this record come out. It's been a long time since we've fucked up your stereos! I think this record has a darker vibe than the last two, with a pretty gnarly tale of grave-robbery, dissection, murder, and all sorts of general skullduggery.
